Program
Day 1 – Thursday – Tel Aviv
Begin your journey. Upon arrival in the Holy Land you will meet our representative and be transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv.
Day 2 – Friday – Tel Aviv / Sea of Galilee / Tiberias (B)
You will be picked up from your hotel by your tour guide and take a short drive to Jaffa and go on a walking tour through the alleys of this ancient town and see The House of Simon the Tanner and marvel at the views from the hill top. From Jaffa we travel along the coast northwards to the archaeological ruins built by Herod the Great in honor of Augustus Caesar in the town of Caesarea. From there we continue on to Megiddo where a great battle at “Armageddon” took place according to the book of Revelation. This ancient city has been inhabited continuously for more than five millennia (6000-500 B.C.). Tour the ancient ruins and then drive to Tiberias on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Check-in to your hotel in Tiberias.
Day 3 – Saturday – Sea of Galilee (B)
We begin our day in the historic town of Tiberias, where Jesus lived and preached. We then move on to Capernaum, the centre of the Ministry of Jesus. We visit Tabgha, just north of Tiberias and the Church of Multiplication – the site of Christ’s miracle of the five loaves and two fish (feeding the 5000). We continue on to the Mount of Beatitudes which is where Jesus preached the “Sermon on the Mount” and it is believed that Jesus picked his 12 apostles. We then ascend to the Golan Heights to view the landscape of the Hula valley and the peaks of Mount Harmon. Return to Tiberias for overnight.
Day 4 – Sunday – Sea of Galilee / Jordan River / Jerusalem (B)
Today we travel to Cana to visit the the site where Jesus turned water into wine performing his first miracle. Continue to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood, and we visit the Church of Annunciation where the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary and told her she would give birth to Jesus. We will also visit Joseph’s Church and Mary’s well. Proceed via the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean to visit the excavations of this preserved Roman City and then continue on to Jerusalem where you check-in to your choice of hotel.
Day 5 – Monday – Dead Sea & Masada (B)
We travel today to Masada which is situated in the Judean Desert near the Dead Sea. The site has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritate Site in 2011. Ascend by cable car to the fortress at the top, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, King Herod’s palace, the synagogue, bathhouse and many more excavations. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea. From there we proceed to the Dead Sea passing by the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Arrive at the Dead Sea which is almost 1300 feet below sea level and the lowest point on earth. Bring your swimsuit as if weather permits, it’s possible to swim – or float – in the Dead Sea and enjoy the healing powers of the minerals .Return to Jerusalem for overnight.
Day 6 – Tuesday – Jerusalem (B)
Begin the day at Mount Scopus with a magnificent panoramic view of Jerusalem. The holy city for each of the world’s three great religions – Christianity, Judaism and Islam – Jerusalem occupies a unique place in the world. Visit the Mount of Olives and go to the site where Judas betrayed Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. Continue to the Old City to visit the Western Wall and the Temple Mount and walk the Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross) to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the traditional site of Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection. Just outside the Old City we will go to Mount Zion and see the Hall of the Last Supper and David’s Tomb. Return to hotel.
Day 7 – Wednesday – Jerusalem (B)
Today we visit Yad Vashem Holocaust, Ein Karem – the birthplace of John the Baptist, the Israel Museum to see the detailed model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple and also the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are kept. Drive by the Knesset (House of Parliament) and the campus of Hebrew University campus. If situation permits, we may travel to t Bethlehem to the Church of the Nativity and Rachel’s Tomb. Back to your hotel for overnight.
Day 8 – Thursday – Jerusalem (B)
Free day in Jerusalem to wander back into Old city.
Day 9 – Friday – Departure (B)
You have reached the end of your journey in the Holy Land. We will provide transport to the airport for departure.
