LAKE KELIMUTU

3 Days / 2 Nights

Why Lake Kelimutu?

Because this is the place where we can see a three-color lake, formed by the eruption of Mount Kelimutu in 1886, forming a lake with 3 colors, red (tiwa ata bupu), blue (tiwo ko'o fai nuwa muri) and white (tiwu ata bupu), although since the eruption of Mount Iya in Ende in 1969, the color changes every time. And there are times where the lake has only one color. The locals believe that the red color signifies gathering of dead people’s spirits, blue signifies the spirits of young people gathering. Meanwhile, the white color signifies that gathering of the spirits of their passed parents or ancestors. Other than the lake, the place also offers a beautiful flora and fauna rarely found in other places.

Where is Lake Kelimutu?

Lake Kelimutu is located at East Nusa Tenggara. To reach the Kelimutu tourist area, there are at least four alternative sea routes through Moni, Flores, through Labuhan Bajo and Maumere seaports. A variety of natural beauty accompanies us on the cruise.
